12th and Chicon was THE epicenter for Austin’s Black community. The East End was the terminus for the trolley that went down 12th Street and carried workers to downtown and West Austin, ending right at 12th and Chicon.
The Ivory is the third building of The Chicon and we are doing our part to help bring back the vitality to the neighborhood.

The immediate neighborhood has changed dramatically over the last 20 years and has become an even stronger and more diverse community with some of the best dog-walking streets in Austin and coffee shops and bakeries within a block of The Ivory.
The Ivory rises five stories above Chicon Street but feels nestled in the surrounding community. Just steps away from The Ivory is one of the new epicenters of East Austin with fashion, coffee shops, pet stores, exercise facilities, restaurants, bars, barbershops, bakeries - all within a block! This little part of East Austin is your new community.
The Ivory is also close to major employers such as Oracle, University of Texas, State of Texas, Google and many others - all of whom can be accessed with bus transit or your e-bike!
